The Bangkok Port reports that the Phangnga region of Thailand is now reopening under the 7+7 extension scheme and is hoping for 30,000 travelers by the end of the year, generating 2.5 billion baht in revenues. Chayabol Hirankanokkul, the president of the Phangnga Tourism Association, said the province has so far only gained 5-6 bookings for this month, but that operators are “projecting” 5,000 travelers generating 800 million baht in September. Under modified rules, international tourists can visit other destinations after seven days in the Phuket sandbox including the “Phangnga Prompt” project, which includes Khao Lak and Koh Yao.
